Intel has introduced a new Itanium processor 9300 (previously known as codenamed Tukwila), who brings more than double the capacity compared to its predecessor, and complements the Itanium platform with new features to improve scalability and reliability.
Processor, which is composed of two billion transistors, meets the need for efficient and scalable server processors with twice as many cores as its predecessor (four instead of two), eight threads per processor (through improved technology, Intel Hyper-Threading Technology), large cache, with up to 800 percent more bandwidth in the connecting elements, up to 500 percent greater bandwidth to memory and up to 700 percent greater memory capacity using standard components DDR3.
Itanium Processor 9300 uses the second generation of Intel Virtualization Technology, which enables higher performance and reliability of operation, associated chipset Intel 7500 virtual machine can directly determine the input / output devices, thereby increasing performance.
