Mobile phones Manufacturers are currently selling more and more smart phones on the market, and is therefore not surprising that sales recently reached records. In the last quarter of last year, it was fact, according to IDC analytical sold 54.5 million smartphones, which is 39 percent over the same period in 2008, when it was sold 39.2 million copies. In the full year 2009 was otherwise sold as 174 million such phones (in 2008 151 million).
According to analysts from IDC (Ramona Liamasa) are good sales mainly attributable to price reductions. As another important factor for good sales are operating systems Android and Palm WebOS, which may offer new and more functionality to its users.
Over the whole year 2009 the biggest sell of smart phones are by Nokia of Finland that is 67.7 millions, with that they controlled 39 percent of market share. Second place is occupied by Canadian company RIM, namely the most well known for its BlackBerry mobile phones. This company sold 34.5 million smartphones, which is 20 percent more than in 2008. In the third place we find Apple, which sold its iPhone 25.1 million copies, making it at the end of the year owned 14 percent of the market. Leaders in Apple can be glad that the last year compared to 2008 sales increased by 81.9 percent mainly becouse of iPhone. In places four and five we can find the manufacturer HTC and Samsung. The first was last year sold 8.1 million smart phones, and the other 5.7 million.
